KL Cup 2020 gearing up for kick-off

The 2020 Kuala Lumpur Cup is less than a month away, with over 120 teams set to kick off on Saturday 7 March.

Taking place at The New Camp in Bandar Utama and Ardence Arena in Setia Alam, the tournament will provide 2 days of football action across 5 age groups, from Under 8 to Under 16.

The 2019 KL Cup saw participation from 108 teams. In 2020, we’re set to welcome over 120 clubs from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

New for 2020

An increased team pool is not the only improvement for the KL Cup in 2020. The tournament now has its own official app on the App Store and Google Play Store, meaning you can follow your favourite team’s progress all from your phone.

In addition to the app, team managers now have online access to their team page where they can register players, manage their teams and assign leaders and coaches for each age group. Coaches can login to their account here.

KL Cup 2019 to Welcome Teams From 5 Nations


The 2019 KL Cup is just over a month away and places are filling up fast in all age groups. The 2019 edition will be the KL Cup’s 4th running, with teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam coming together in Kuala Lumpur on 2–3 March.

Started in 2016, the KL Cup offers competitive football to boys and girls from 8 to 16 years old. The tournament is organised by Maxim Events, the company behind the AirAsia KL Junior League and the KL Invitational Cup, and to date has hosted over 200 teams from more than 8 Asian countries.

New for 2019

While the 2018 KL Cup took place at The New Camp, Bandar Utama, the 2019 edition will expand to 3 venues across the Malaysian capital. The addition of pitches at Ardence Arena in Setia Alam and UM Park at Universiti Malaya will provide more playing and spectator space making for a smoother tournament from the group stages to the finals.

Young Prospects to Shine at KL Cup 2018 presented by AirAsia

The Kuala Lumpur Cup presented by AirAsia returns for its third edition, with a number of Southeast Asian teams of various age groups, from Under 8 to Under 16, ready to blaze the pitch.

The KL Cup will be held at The New Camp, Bandar Utama on the 3rd and 4th of March 2018, with matches starting from 8am on both days. Participants will compete in group stage matches on Saturday to qualify for the tournament’s knockout rounds on Sunday.

Teams from Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Thailand will also be gracing Malaysian soil for this tournament, while Malaysia representatives will see participants coming from states including Penang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Johor. Avid fans, parents and players get to enjoy the food trucks that will be brought in for the tournament, whilst watching their fellow friends and children battle it out on the turf.

The tournament, which made its debut in 2016, is an international youth football competition that targets competitive junior teams from across the region, with the aim to improve the opportunities for high quality inter-club football in Southeast Asia. Last year’s tournament saw a total of 64 teams participating in the competition. This year organisers Little League Soccer have upped the ante by bringing in a whopping 98 teams and over 1,000 players, ensuring that there will be non-stop action across the weekend.

About the Organiser

The KL Cup presented by AirAsia is brought to you by Little League Soccer Malaysia, the country’s longest running international football academy. Initially formed in Singapore in 1999, Little League moved to Malaysia in 2000, and stamped its mark instantly as the prime provider of youth football coaching. The academy has spread its wings through the Klang Valley region, and now boasts training centres in 4 locations as well competitive teams (playing as FC Kuala Lumpur) competing in leagues and tournaments. The academy also runs the AirAsia KL Junior League.

Hoping to shine in the AirAsia-backed tournament are teams from across Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, with clubs from Thailand and Vietnam also hoping to make the trip to Kuala Lumpur.

And with 23 academies already confirmed, the 2018 KL Cup looks set to be the strongest in the competition’s three year history.

Representing Indonesia will be teams from Blispi Asia DKI (U10), Blispi Uni Bandung Jabar (U12), ISA Trisakti (U12, U14) FOSSBI Indonesia (U12, U14) and RMF UNY Indonesia (U14).

They will take on the likes of Turf City FC (U10, U12, U14, U16), 8M United (U16) and Comets (U10) from Singapore, while Assumption FC (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) will travel from Penang and Inspire BudakBOLA (U14) from Melaka.

In KL, the travelling teams will meet local clubs FC Kuala Lumpur (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16), Titan United (U10, U12, U14), BTR Cougars (U10), Astaka (U10) and over 15 other elite teams and NFDP academies.

To say the action is expected to be hot would be a definite understatement.

KL Cup 2018

International Competition Confirmed for KL Cup 2018

We’re 3 months away from the 2018 Kuala Lumpur Cup but the age-groups are already filling up fast. And confirmed teams from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia mean there’ll be a strong international flavour to the third running of the youth football tournament.

Leading the charge from south of the border are Turf City Football Club and Comets Academy. Both clubs will be looking to fly the Singapore flag against the likes of FC Kuala Lumpur, NFDP ATPP and ATBTR from Kuala Lumpur, and sides from Indonesia, Vietnam and across Malaysia.

Early bird ending soon!

Academies have just 10 days left to enjoy the super early bird half price promotion. Making entry fees just RM400 per team, the offer secures a place in the 2018 KL Cup at a bargain price.

Fees rise to RM600 per team between 16 December 2017 and 16 January 2018 under the early bird promo before regular pricing of RM800 begins on 16 January 2018.

The Kuala Lumpur Cup is an international youth football tournament held in the bustling capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Targetted at competitive junior teams from across the region, the cup aims to improve the opportunities for high quality inter-club football in Southeast Asia.

Open to teams in five age-groups, from Under-8s to Under-16s, the third edition of the KL Cup will take place at The New Camp, Bandar Utama in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 3 to 4 March 2017.
